Garlic and Cinnamon Spices and Recipes That Help Lower Blood Pressure

If you are looking for heart healthy foods, check out this list of garlic and cinnamon spices and recipes that help lower blood pressure! Note that the cinnamon recipes below use Ceylon Cinnamon.

If you watched GMA3 today, you may have seen the segment where Dr. J shared that certain spices can actually help lower high blood pressure, when you eat 3 grams, or 1/2 teaspoons daily. Thankfully I love cinnamon and garlic, because that much sounds like a lot - however, it's actually not!

Garlic and Cinnamon Spices and Recipes That Help Lower Blood Pressure

I am headed to the store right this minute to grab a nice big jar of cinnamon and some fresh garlic. I cannot wait to make these yummy recipes starting pronto!

I will say a few things before we get to the list, however.  One, I am not a health professional or doctor - I am simply sharing my knowledge.

And two, stay away from the salt!  This does not give you free reign to indulge in garlic salt.   Repeat after me:  fresh garlic.  That you have to mince, with your hands and a knife, that will make your fingers stinky.  Yes, that kind.

Also - you'll want to note that the type of cinnamon makes a different. I go for the Ceylon Cinnamon. This type is considered the true type of cinnamon, and is most used in fine, gourmet foods. Another type of cinnamon is Cassia which you can also get in sticks but is considered lower quality (source).  You can get both in powder form.  Trust me, go for Ceylon Cinnamon Sticks or you can go for the Ceylon Cinnamon Powder.
